HC: No stay on MCD tender

The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to issue a stay on an MCD tendering process. “The tenders have been invited for a Rs 300-crore project aimed at mechanical sweeping of 800 km of Delhi roads,” MCD Counsel Sumeet Pushkarna told the Delhi High Court.

“Mechanized sweepers will be state-of-the-art machines with power suction technology. Besides the dust and mud, solid debris too will go,” he said.

The MCD project came to light when a company, Antony Waste Handling Cell Pvt Ltd, a bidder, moved court alleging illegality in tender process and sought a stay.

Convinced by the MCD contention, the court disposed off the petition. It upheld MCD’s contention that the firm’s plea was premature as the process was at an early stage and even their bid was being considered.
