The Delhi High Court on Monday issued a notice to Arvind Kejriwal on Congress leader Kiran Walia’s plea challenging the AAP chief ’s candidature in the coming Assembly election for “illegally” declaring himself as a resident of the national Capital.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru sought replies from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on the objection raised by Walia, who is also contesting from the New Delhi assembly constituency, against Kejriwal declaring himself a resident of BK Dutt colony.
The HC has directed all parties to make their stand clear on the next date of hearing on February 4.Walia has alleged that the former Delhi CM has “illegally sought for inclusion of his name into the electoral roll of New Delhi assembly constituency by falsely declaring himself to be an ‘ordinary resident’ of Delhi since past 22 months”.
The petition claimed that Kejriwal was always an “ordinary resident” of Kaushambi.
