Five girls had died in a stampede at the northeast Delhi on September 10.

One more person was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the case. The accused, booked for rioting and damaging public property, are between 18-25 years old, the police said.

“They are not even related to the students who were injured,” said S.S. Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (northeast).

The accused were produced in a city court on Wednesday, which sent them to 14 days’ judicial custody. They belong to Sri Ram Colony in Khajuri Khas, a slum dwelling and most of them are unemployed, the police said.

They had pelted stones at the police when parents of the victims gathered outside the school to protest against the government’s probe.

On Wednesday, the school functioned under police protection.
