The weekend concluded on a hot note for Delhiites as the maximum temperature on Sunday crossed the 40°C mark. The Met office has predicted hotter days ahead.

“The maximum temperature settled at 40.9°C, a notch above average, and the minimum was 28.8°C, two notches above average,” said an official of the Met department. The humidity hovered between a maximum of 63% and a minimum of 30%.

The IMD said that Monday would be a sunny and hot day with the skies remaining partly cloudy and no possibility of rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 41°C and 29°C, respectively

The met office has forecast showers in the city around Wednesday.
