Reacting to former Karnataka Chief Minister S Bangarappa's resignation from Samajwadi Party and plans to join the grand-old-party, SP leader Amar Singh on Thursday said if Congressmen in UP are "encouraged towards us, I will also open my doors".

Singh also denied that he had in any meeting with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi cleared that he has no objections to Bangarappa joining Congress as claimed by the former Karnataka chief minister.
Earlier, Bangrappa described Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh as his "good friends".
"While discussing UP with Sonia ji, Amar Singh ji incidentally discussed my matter. I should thank him for that," he had said.
