A six-member IAF mountaineering expedition team that has embarked on a mission to conquer seven summits spread across all continents, has successfully scaled Mount Denali Peak in Alaska, the highest peak in north America at an altitude of 6,194 metres.

The team, led by Wing Commander R C Tripathi, conquered the peak on June 20 and with this it has scaled the fourth mountain peak under its 'Mission Seven Summits'.
The team returned to India today and were received at the Air headquarters here by Air Officer in-Charge (Administration) Air Marshal J N Burma, an IAF statement said.
Other members of the team were Wg Cdr Jaikishan, Squadron Leader N Rawat, Squadron Leader D Panda, Squadron Leader R Sagar and Junior Warrant Officer N R Choudhary.
Mount Denali is considered as one of the most difficult and trickiest one to climb in terms of severity and unpredictable nature of weather.
The team has already scaled Mount Everest, Mount Carstensz Pyramid, Mount Aconcagua apart from the latest Mount Denali.
It would undertake the remaining expeditions to Mount Elbrus in Europe, Mount Kilimanjaro in South Africa in July and August, and Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica in December this year to accomplish the mission.
