Delhi chief secretary PK Tripathi said the state government will only transfer only five DANICS officers out of Delhi as replacement to five officers transferred from other Union territories to Delhi.

“The Union government has already transferred 25 IAS officers recently while 10 IAS officers, including myself, are going to retire this month. Delhi need senior officers to run the administrative systems smoothly,” Tripathi said.

The home ministry had started the process to transfer seven senior IAS officers and had come out with the transfer order of 25 DANICS officers in the last week of May.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit had personally met home minister P Chidambaram to apprise him of Delhi government’s protest against the move to transfer the IAS officers.

Interestingly, the proposal to transfer DANICS officers came out within hours of Dikshit-Chidambaram meet.
