The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), on Monday, activated the Remote Access To E-resources (RATE) as well as the new administration building, which will provide greater on-campus facilities to the existing and future students.

The RATE facility, unveiled by CP Joshi, union minister for road transport and highways, is aimed at providing access to e-resources, e-journals, e-books from anywhere, all throughout the week. The facility has been opened to academics, faculty, regional centres, research and teaching assistants (RTAs), researchers and to on-campus students at the initial level.
"We are the first central university to launch its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which now has reduced the manual work of the university officials for the back office operations such as recruitment, leaves and sundry bills. Things which are meant to be done on a routine basis will now be done with the help of the ERP powered by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)," said Prof. Latha Pillai, pro vice-chancellor, IGNOU.
