IIT Kharagpur professor Rajeev Kumar had asked IIT Madras for details of marks of all students who appeared for the test to analyse the examination that contained numerous errors, under the RTI Act.
But IIT Madras that organised the 2010 JEE has refused to do so. The CIC, had ordered the IITs to make public such details public for the JEEs from 2006 till 2009. It was the analysis of the JEE 2006 data that enabled Kumar to expose that 994 deserving candidates were denied seats.
