The demolition squad, with the help of two bulldozers and a demolition machine, destroyed two multi-storey buildings, boundary walls, tin sheds, under-construction houses, among others. Gurgaon deputy commissioner PC Meena appointed sub-divisional magistrate (north) Satender Duhan as the duty magistrate while MCG joint commissioner Veena Hooda along with ACP Sumer Singh led the squad. DTP enforcement Dilbag Singh and Gurgaon tehsildar Pankaj Setia were also present during the drive.

The demolition work, which started at around 10am, ended around 5pm under police protection.
The issue of illegal constructions in the 900-metre restricted zone is pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
As per the High Court order, the Gurgaon administration has banned registration of sale deeds of plots in this area.

The officer who executed the sale deed will be punished.

Teams have been formed to keep a tab on illegal construction in the restricted area.

Meena has asked people to help curb illegal construction around the ammunition depot. He has encouraged residents to inform about suspicious activities seen in the prohibited zone. Such information can be sent by post, email or via other means. Meena said the identity of the informer will be kept secret.

The deputy commissioner has also directed officials to be vigilant. Power connections to illegal structures in the area will be disconnected and all borewells will be sealed. After serving notice to violators, the structure should be photographed and then demolished.
