Talyehoshua Koren, 40, the Israeli woman official who suffered spine and liver injuries in Monday’s bomb attack in the Capital, was discharged from Primus Super-specialty Hospital after her condition showed significant improvement post-surgery.

According to hospital sources, arrangements were made to fly her back to Israel in an air-ambulance on Friday night.
“She wished to go back to her country. We discharged her after our multi-specialty team evaluated her and found her fit to travel. She is being moved around in a stretcher as we did not attempt to make her walk because of the pain and wounds,” said Dr Arun Bhanot, chief of spine services at the hospital.
“Though she is improving well post-surgery, she would need to be under hospital care for a few more days in Israel before she can go back home,” he added.
After the blast on Monday, Koren was brought to the hospital bleeding profusely. A shrapnel measuring 1.5cm had got stuck in her spine, putting pressure on the nerve. Another shrapnel had injured her liver that led to heavy bleeding.
Koren’s left leg had become partially paralytic because of the pressure on the spinal nerve.
