“They were in continuous touch with the Intelligence Bureau officials. The details of all the people visiting India were shared on real-time basis,” said a senior police officer, wishing to remain anonymous.
Police said apart from police forces of other countries, Interpol was integrated at the International Security Liaison Centre set up for the Games.
“The Interpol team, quipped with its database of international criminals, terrorist organisations, assisted the security liaison centre by screening all international visitors,” said the officer.
The Interpol team was set up to support the security efforts of the Indian authorities.
