IPL Tent Supplier found dead

A senior citizen, who set up tents for the IPL matches in Delhi, was found murdered at his residence in the Walled City on Saturday morning. His servant and a street guard are absconding along with valuables worth lakhs from the house.

Police said the 72-year-old has been identified as Dev Sain Jain. He operated a tent shop called New Tent House from his three-storeyed residence. He also had a jewellery shop.

Police said that Jain's tempo driver, Vijay arrived at the shop at 7:30 am on Saturday. “Police said Vijay found Jain in a pool of blood in his living room, his hands and legs tied,” said Amreek Singh, a neighbour.

Police said the house was in a mess. Items were pulled out from cupboards, showcases and suitcases.

A Nepalese guard, identified as Kishan Bahadur, who mans the street outside Jain's house, and the family's servant, are absconding since the incident. A manhunt has been launched for their arrests.

Police said Bahadur had been hired to guard Jain's shop 20 days back. At Bahadur's instance, Jain had employed the other man, Ashish as a cleaner. Both were not verified with the police.
