Islamic association criticised on critical issues

India has come down heavily on the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) — an association of 56 Islamic states promoting Muslim solidarity in economic, social, and political affairs — for its observations on Jammu and Kashmir and its reference to 26/11 as a mere “incident” during its last session in Syria.

India has come down heavily on the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) — an association of 56 Islamic states promoting Muslim solidarity in economic, social, and political affairs — for its observations on Jammu and Kashmir and its reference to 26/11 as a mere “incident” during its last session in Syria.

A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said, “We note with regret that the OIC has chosen to comment on India’s internal affairs during the 36th session of the council of foreign ministers held in Syria on 23rd-25th May. The OIC has no locus standi on India’s internal affairs.”
