Speaker Meira Kumar has constituted a high level committee, headed by her, to protect the heritage structure that opened in 1927.

Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani are members of the committee.
