Amidst political turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprised him of the recent developments.
The meeting lasted for half an hour, during which Azad briefed the Prime Minister in detail about the security situation in the state, the sources said.

The issue of PDP, Congress' junior ally in the coalition ministry, threatening to pull out of the government and boycotting the state cabinet meetings also figured prominently in the meeting, they said.
The prime minister has already called PDP leader Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to Delhi for holding talks on the issues raised by him that include reduction of troops in the state and repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
Earlier, in a letter written to the PDP on March 15, the prime minister had rejected its demand for troop reduction in the valley.
The PDP has scheduled a crucial meeting of its political affairs committee on March 25 to take a decision on its continuation in the 54-month-old Congress-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.
