A special team was constituted in the police station, headed by an Assistant Sub Inspector Dharambir Singh, earlier this year to apprehend proclaimed offenders, Vivek Kishore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said.

Out of the 100 POs apprehended by the team, 11 were involved in heinous cases, three in rape cases and two in snatching cases.

Other police stations in Central Delhi, including Kamla Market, Prasad Nagar and West Pahar Ganj police stations also have dedicated teams for apprehending POs. A total of 216 proclaimed offenders have been apprehended by the Central District this year.
