Jolly files nomination, confident of defeating CM

BJP candidate from New Delhi constituency Vijay Jolly on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the assembly polls, voicing confidence that he will win the contest against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit with his "time for change" agenda.

Flanked by supporters and party leaders like former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana and city Mayor Arti Mehra as also the party prime ministerial candidate LK Advani's son Jayant, Jolly challenged Dikshit to a political "debate".

He also pointed out that he has come with only one vehicle in keeping with the code of conduct and urged the Chief Election Commissioner to look into why the Delhi Jal Board website is having the photograph of Dikshit even after the announcement of elections.

"Mukabla badiya hoga...Katen ka takkar hoga (the fight will be interesting, the competition will be tough)," Jolly told reporters, but also added that "I will attain Vijay (victory) and keep the people of Delhi 'jolly'".

"If Lord Hanuman can make Barack Obama victorious, why not me," Jolly, who had prayed at a Hanuman temple before filing the papers, said. "The youths and people with vision will vote for my time for change agenda".

Small screen 'bahu' Smriti Irani was also there to add to the star power of Jolly's campaign.
