The accused, Dr Rupa Singh (35), allegedly injected a poisonous chemical to her four-year-old twin daughters, Tanya and Twinkle, and then attempted suicide after a tiff with her husband Dr Rajiv Ranjan (38), over the issue setting up of a nursing home to which her husband was objecting.

While the twins died, the accused was admitted to Max Hospital from where she was discharged on Monday and arrested.

"After she was discharged from Max hospital on Monday evening, she was arrested. We have registered a case of murder and attempted suicide and investigations are on into the case," a police officer said.
