A 58-year-old loader working with Air India has been arrested on charges of stealing jewellery from a passenger’s bag at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Wednesday, police said.

The accused, Kaka Singh, was caught pilfering a jewellery pouch in the security hold area.
Police said the incident was reported early Wednesday morning when the baggage of passengers was being loaded on the aircraft. The flight was bound for Toronto in Canada.
Police said Singh had cut open the passenger’s bag with a knife and was taking out the stuff when he was caught.
“We registered a case of theft after the Air India employees handed him over to us. He has been sent to jail,” said OP Mishra, DCP, (IGI).
“The airline suspected him earlier also but did not have any proof against him,” said a senior police officer.
