Mahendroo granted bail

A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to CWG Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi’s close aide Sanjay Mahendroo, who was arrested for alleged bungling in the Queen Baton’s relay in London in 2009. HT reports.

A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to CWG Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi’s close aide Sanjay Mahendroo, who was arrested for alleged bungling in the Queen Baton’s relay in London in 2009.

Mahendroo, a joint director general in the CWG OC, has been in jail since November 15 last year after he was arrested along with his colleague TS Darbari.

Special CBI judge OP Saini granted Mahendroo bail after the CBI failed to complete the investigation and file its chargesheet in the case within the stipulated 60 days’ period after registration of the FIR.
