The victim identified as Aslam, a casual labourer, was eating eggs at a roadside stall in Naraina when the incident took place on Sunday night.

“Aslam was also listening to music on his mobile phone. He had switched on the loudspeaker. Three men came to the stall and asked Aslam to turn down the volume. When he refused an altercation took place. The accused beat him up with a wooden staff lying nearby,” said Sharad Aggarwal, deputy commissioner of police (southwest).

The police said Aslam, a native of Bihar, was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he died during the course of treatment. He had suffered head injuries. The police have registered a case of murder.
