A 58-year-old woman was allegedly shot at by her son over a property dispute in the Shahadra area of northeast Delhi on Wednesday evening, the police said.

The woman identified as Sita Yadav is admitted to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital with a bullet injury on her back.
The incident took place around 5 p.m. when Sita was on her way to a market. “The woman has alleged that three men on a motorcycle, including her son and his brother-in-law, opened fire at her and fled,” said S.S. Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (northeast).
The police said they will register a case against the son. The police said since last four years the woman was involved in a dispute with her two sons over a double-storeyed house owned by her in the Durgapuri area. She had threatened to disinherit them.
“The sons have alleged their mother invited sadhus to their home which led to tiffs between them,” said the DCP. Sita’s daughter and son-in-law have supported her claims.
