He went to Mahatma Gandhi's samadhi and prayed like a humble devout during his over an hour stay at the Rajghat in Delhi.

In India to trace his father Martin Luther King Jr's 'India pilgrimage' 50 years ago, Martin Luther King III visited Gandhi's memorial and took time to tour the entire Rajghat.
Like any other visitor to the Rajghat, King III removed his footwear and approached the memorial where he laid a wreath and 'prayed' for some time.
An emotional King III then went round the Rajghat and even shook hands with curious onlookers who had come to the memorial. He stayed there for over an hour.
Gandhi Samadhi official Rajinish presented King III with three books about Gandhi besides a bust of the Father of the Nation.
King III is in New Delhi with a Congressional delegation to commemorate the golden jubilee anniversary of India tour of his father, an iconic civil rights leader.
King and his wife, Coretta Scott King, travelled to India in 1959 for a month. Upon their return to the US, they and other leaders of the civil rights movement drew on Gandhi's ideas to transform American society.
King III will visit the Gandhi Museum here tomorrow and will go to the Sabarmati Ashram in the coming days.
