Match-fixing between govt, discoms: AAP

Calling it a "match fixing" between Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, private discoms, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) and the Centre, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed "an atmosphere of power shortage" is being created so that people are forced to buy power at a higher rate.

"What we call 'match fixing' can be understood from various incidents over the last few days. This is a conspiracy to create chaos ahead of the summers," Manish Sisodia, AAP spokesperson, said in a statement.

He said the Centre had stopped 400 MW electric supply to Delhi, resulting in massive power cuts in east and south Delhi and the reason being told is power manufactures have not been paid.

"After Dikshit's letter to DERC on February 1 about losses of Rs. 20,000 crore to power discoms, the DERC suggested her to avail Centre's scheme for helping them out and also suggested the power discoms to set up audit committees of their own," he claimed.

"How can the DERC chairperson be so sure that power discoms would get Centre's help?," he added.
