MBA, 2 more arrested in cheating case

Police said the accused, an MBA graduate, used to appear for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) on behalf of the people he used to send abroad.

The police have arrested Rupinder Singh (27), who was in Australia for his studies since 2007. He wanted an IELTS clearance certificate to become a Permanent Resident in Australia.

The other arrested accused are Gulshan Nath (42), from Uttam Nagar, and Mohit Singh (30), who went to Canada in 2002 and after completing an MBA degree, returned to India in 2005.

Police said Mohit Singh used to appear in the English language test for others and charged a hefty fee.

IGIA Deputy Commissioner of Police O.P. Mishra said, “To avoid easy detection by the invigilator, Mohit used to take out the bio-data sheet with photograph of the original passport holders and replace it with that of his own photograph without changing the particulars of the original passport holder.”

Police had detained Rupinder Singh at IGI airport.
