MCD demolishes unauthorised building

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Saturday demolished a five-storey unauthorised building that had tilted dangerously in Panchsheel Vihar near Malviya Nagar.

Along with heavy police deployment, MCD officials had gathered in the colony right next to Khirki Extension off Malviya Nagar since morning.

The building, comprising ground level stilt parking plus four stories, bore tell-tale signs of tilting.

Deep Mathur, MCD's director (press and information) said, "MCD carried out demolition as it was unauthorised and tilting, posing danger to human life and property."
