The civic agency’s vigilance department has prepared a list of 3,500 MCD officials who have regular departmental action, vigilance cases, or police cases against them.

MCD’s standing committee chairman Yogender Chandolia has now asked municipal commissioner KS Mehra to find out how many of these officials work in sensitive departments that involves public dealing.

“There are 3,500 officials in MCD who are facing RDAs, corruption and criminal charges. The MCD needs to find out if they are working in departments where they can misuse their power. A list should be prepared and all such officers should be transferred immediately,” said Chandolia.

“Apart from those with vigilance or police cases against them, we have also transferred engineers who have been in the same post for the last three years or more. Though complaints had been piling up for a long time, the pressure increased after the Lalita Park house collapse," a senior MCD official said.
