The property that got its plan sanctioned is from Vasant Kunj. With the sanctioning of the plan, the MCD has become the first local body in India to introduce the system of sanctioning building plans applied online.
The scheme of sanctioning building plans through online system was launched on November 1. “At present, only MCD headquarters receives and sanctions plans, but soon the facility would be extended to its zonal offices to make the procedure hassle-free,” Mehra said.
The scheme so far is restricted to fresh proposals in respect to properties in residential plotted areas. Giving details of the project, Additional Commissi-oner (Engineering), Manish Gupta said a unique software has been developed which automatically scrutinises the drawings as per Building Bye-Laws, 1983 and Master Plan 2021. He added that it has been proposed that the extension of the facility to two zonal offices — South Zone and Rohini Zone— be completed by December 1. The facility would be extended to all the remaining zones by January 1, 2012, he said. The official site of the local body www.mcdonline.gov.in has a list of architects empanelled online by the MCD for the purpose.
