MCD says no private player in sanitation

Mayor Prithviraj Sawhney met the representatives of Delhi Pradesh Safai Karamchari Sangh to discuss their problems and demands.

According to him, the process of regularisation of 7,000 sanitation workers has already begun.

"The employees who were engaged on contract for 89 days will now be directly engaged for a period of one-year and their services will be regularised as and when the vacancies are available," said Sawhney. Sawhney said sanitation workers engaged on contract will directly be in contract with MCD and not with any other company.

He requested the sanitation workers not to be misguided or be under any confusion over the issue.
