Almost 10,000 kg spurious khoya seized by the food adulteration department of the Delhi health ministry mysteriously disappeared from outside the premises of Mori Gate police station on Wednesday afternoon.
While the food adulteration department officials, who conducted the raid, claimed they had handed over the spurious khoya to the police, the police said they had nothing to do with raids or the material seized. The owners of the spurious material had disappeared during raids near Mori Gate,"The raid was conducted by the sub-divisional magistrate. Their officials brought the adulterated dairy products and kept it outside the premises (mori Gate police station) unguarded.

We do not know if someone took some of it away. We were not responsible for the raid or for keeping the confiscated product safe," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.
Delhi health minister Kiran Walia said the police refused to accept the papers and the confiscated material from the SDM and his team.
"It is general practice that whenever such food products are seized and the owners disappear, our teams take the sample and the police take over the goods. Our officials requested the senior police officers to take care of the goods seized but they refused. The police even refused to accept letter from our officials," Walia said.
She said the sample of the spurious khoya has been sent for testing.
"Our department will also take up the matter with senior police officials tomorrow," she added.
