According to sources, 24 candidates, who, according to a complaint filed by the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) recently, as per their scores in three examinations held within weeks of each other, seem to have been on an academic rollercoaster.

"On May 7, the said candidates did not qualify IP University's medical entrance test. Exactly two weeks later, they secured anything between 70% to 75% marks in the DUMET.

This was before the same candidates got between 9% to 15% in the All India Pre Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT), which was held on April 4," said a senior police officer investigating the complaint.

On July 11, Hindustan Times had reported on the said scam in which, according to a written complaint received by the Crime Branch, eight candidates had been named.

The number of candidates gradually shot-up to a total of a whopping 64, who, police have reason to believe, paid between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh to a leading medical coaching institute to get admission in one of the three medical
colleges under the Delhi University.
