Rain and hail in parts of the city on Friday may put an end to the weeklong spell of pleasant weather in the Capital, the Met department has said.

A western disturbance is set to bring rain and snow to northern India, the Met department has forecasted.

“Rain is expected in Delhi on Friday, especially in the evening. The rainfall may continue till Saturday,” a Met department official said.

The maximum temperatures are also expected to dip by a couple of degrees in the coming days.

On Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius while the minimum is expected to be around 12 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday, the temperatures are expected to be between 21 and 13 degrees Celsius.

The temperatures on Thursday, however, were quite high. The maximum temperature was recorded as 26.7 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, while the minimum was 10.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 95 and a low of 27%, the official added.

“Thursday was quite hot for this part of the year. The sun is particularly harsh. I think rain will be welcomed by most,” said Shruti Yadav, a Delhi University student, when informed of the Met department’s forecast.
