Metro services on Dilshad Garden-Rithala route were disrupted on Tuesday evening and hundreds of passengers were stranded at stations along the line as well as in trains for a long time, thanks to a technical snag.

Commuters said around 8 p.m. when a train plying on the Red line suddenly stopped for about 10 minutes just before approaching Pratap Nagar Station, the station after Kashmiri Gate.
After that it started moving but again got stranded before entering Shastri Nagar again for about 12 minutes.
"The train was so overloaded that the ACs were also hardly effective. The scene inside the train was like an unreserved compartment of Railways. A number of passengers also fell sick inside the coach," said Ranjeet Dhar, a commuter who boarded the train at Kashmiri Gate station.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials: "A technical problem occurred in a train near Pratapnagar, which was plying on the Dilshad Garden-Rithala route. Due to the delay, service of a few other trains on the route got affected. The service got streamlined around 9 p.m."
