A day after the doors of a metro train failed to open, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) engineers sent the data collected from the train to Bombardier Transportation’s centre for propulsion systems at Mannheim in Germany.

“Our team of engineers has not yet reached a conclusion regarding the problem. We have sent the data to Bombardier’s engineers to conduct a parallel investigation,” said H.S. Anand, director (rolling stocks), DMRC.

A joint team of DMRC and Bombardier engineers conducted a joint investigation on the train of which the doors had failed to open at Shadipur depot on Monday evening.

The problem had recurred at Kirti Nagar, the next metro station on Noida-Dwarka line, and the train operator had to go to the rear cabin to open the doors. The train was pulled out of service and taken for investigations.

Manufactured by Bombardier Transportation, a German transport giant, the train was inducted into the fleet just a couple of months ago. The company is manufacturing 424 broad gauge coaches for the Delhi Metro for almost Rs 3,000 crore. More than 100 coaches have already arrived in Delhi.
