The DMRC, which had commenced trial runs for the Central Secretariat –Lajpat Nagar section on July 23, has extended it to Moolchand, Kailash Colony and Nehru Place from Tuesday. “The trial runs will continue for a few days after which it will be extended up to Sarita Vihar in a phased manner for the 20.16 km long Central Secretariat—Badarpur corridor. The line is expected to be operational within 20 days,” said a DMRC official.

“This is the second standard gauge corridor after the Inderlok-Mundka corridor. The entire line consists of 16 stations,” said a DMRC spokesperson. Metro trains will pass over the Moolchand cable-stayed bridge, which is one of the milestones in the Delhi Metro construction.
