A Metro construction worker was crushed under the wheels of a construction truck near New Delhi railway station late on Wednesday.

Ratnesh Kumar (26) was said to be working for V.S. Projects, a sub-contractor, on Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Airport Express line.

According to a DMRC spokesperson, the incident took place at twenty minutes past nine outside the New Delhi Metro construction site. “The victim along with two more persons was coming towards the construction site from Minto Road side. A transit mixer vehicle of another contractor took a blind right turn at a T-point. The victim’s clothes got stuck near the rear wheel and he got crushed,” the spokesperson said. Police are questioning the driver.
