Miffed Lokpal shoots off letter after being asked to skip AAP meet

Hours before the AAP national council was to meet on Saturday, founder member Yogendra Yadav made public a letter written by Aam Aadmi Party’s internal lokpal Admiral Ramdas to the party leadership, in which the former Navy chief expressed surprise over the party asking him not to attend the meet to “avoid confrontation”.

In the letter, Ramdas referred to the SMS he received from AAP general secretary Pankaj Gupta, citing several reasons for the party's decision to ask him to skip the meeting.

Miffed over the snub, Ramdas said he had come all the way from his village in Maharashtra to attend the meet, but would not attend it to honour the party's request.

"I am quite aware that the National Council (NC) is an internal affair of the party. I am also aware that special invitees/observers have to and have been invited to all bodies like the political affairs committee, national executive committee to NC in the past," he said.

In a letter to Political Affairs Committee, Aam Aadmi Party's highest decision making body, ahead of the national executive meeting on February 26, Admiral Ramdas had noted that there were two camps emerging within the top leadership of the party and had asked the party to consider 'one man, one post' arrangement.
