The minimum on Wednesday was 4.1 degrees Celsius.

While the maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius, the minimum at 3.4 degrees Celsius was six degrees below normal, the MET office said.

The weatherman has predicted colder days ahead with the minimum temperature likely to dip a little further.

The capital has been experiencing intense cold for the past few days with the minimum and maximum temperatures remaining many notches below normal.

The season's lowest was recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius on January 2.
