Minors kill 14-year-old in Dwarka

A medical examination of Prashant Singh suggested that blows inflicted by the four boys with bare hands killed him, an officer investigating the case said.

A Class 8 student at the senior secondary school in Uttam Nagar, Prashant was returning home to Vishwas Nagar, when the boys waylaid him, said Sharad Aggarwal, deputy commissioner of police (southwest).

He was found unconscious in a park near his home hours later.

An eyewitness claimed that Prashant had an altercation with four students, who looked to be his age, including the brother of a girl who stays in the Bindapur, said Aggarwal. Prashant was said to be pursuing her.

The 14-year-old, the police believe, was beaten up in the park. There were no injury marks save some scratches, the officer said.

Prashant's post mortem was conducted at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Sunday and a case of murder registered, he said.
