Delhi Police on Monday sought more time from a city court to file the probe report in the unsolved case of murder of fashion designer Mona Suri who was burnt by two unidentified assailants outside her residence in 2007.

"We need some more time to file the report in the case," a senior police officer submitted before Metropolitan Magistrate Munish Markan who allowed the plea and fixed the matter for October seven.

The police filed a fresh status report in the case relating to the murder of the 35-year-old fashion designer.

The four suspects, including Naveen Suri, husband of the victim, his girlfriend Rachna and Rajiv Sharma, in the case have already undergone narco-analysis tests at a laboratory in Gujarat and the reports were awaited, the police, while seeking some more time to conclude the probe, had said on July seven.

Earlier, Manjeet Bawa, father of the victim, had sought speedy investigation. He had approached the court with a plea to give directions for narco tests on Rachna with whom Naveen Suri allegedly had an affair.

Suri succumbed to her injuries on October 21, 2007. However, the police have not been able to either nab the assailants or establish the motive behind the murder.

The victim's father rued that the probe into the case has not been completed and delay in getting the narco tests done on the suspects will prolong the proceedings.
