Money lender held for man’s murder

The police have arrested a 36-year-old moneylender for the murder of a computer operator in Rohini area of northwest Delhi. The accused killed the man when the latter accidentally dropped a plate of chicken tikka.

On Sunday night, Himanshu Batra was shot dead by Surya Prakash alias Babloo when the plate of chicken tikka Babloo was carrying fell as
soon as Batra opened the door of his car. The police said they managed to trace the accused with the help of his car that he had left behind in the market after the incident.

Babloo is a resident of Khera Khurd Village in Outer Delhi and has many criminal cases registered against him. Batra's friend Manmeet Gulia said he and his deceased friend, who was a resident of Rani Bagh, was sitting in their car and their three other friends had gone to the DDA Market to buy something to eat.

“After some time, Batra went to join the other three. That was when the car door hit one man who was walking with a plate of chicken tikka.

During investigations, police found that a Maruti A-Star was parked in the market till late at night. On inquiry, it was found to be registered in the name of one Mehtab Singh of Siras Pur village. Singh told the police that he had sold the car to Babloo a year ago. “He works as financier and lends money on interest,” said Sharma.
