About 38 officers of the recently dismantled Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been transferred or posted in the fledgling corporations. Nine department heads will work for all three bodies, it has been decided.

MCD employees, belonging to all cadres and categories, are required to be relieved of their duties by Tuesday, so that they can join work at the new corporations the next day.

“The department heads have been told not to heed excuses of those employees who refuse to join corporations that they themselves chose. All three corporations are facing a staff crunch and need employees to start work immediately,” said a senior official of one of the municipal corporations.

Another official concurred: “Given the shortage of staff, high-ranking officials will look after all three corporations. Later, when more recruitment is made, the set up may be changed.”

The director of local bodies issued a recent order naming AK Singh, Deepak Hastir and Kiran Dabral as additional commissioners of east, north and south Delhi corporations.
