"Every day one or the other road caved-in. Driving in and around the city was a nightmare. First we had to deal with potholes and then these craters," said Nishant Basista, a resident of Nizamuddin.

A number of roads in the city have been constructed over water pipelines which, experts say, is a sheer violation. It wasn’t just the far flung areas that witnessed road cave-ins, even Lutyens Delhi was not spared. Road cave-ins were reported from Khan Market, Ashoka Road, Saket, Aurobindo Marg, Greater Kailash II, BRT Corridor, SP Marg, Geeta Colony, Nirman Vihar, Vikas Marg, KG Marg, Akbar Road.
