MP dharna after LS adjournment

An anguished Congress MP on Monday refused to leave the Lok Sabha even after it was adjourned sine die, to register his protest for not getting an opportunity to air his views on the destruction caused by rains in Andhra Pradesh.

An anguished Congress MP on Monday refused to leave the Lok Sabha even after it was adjourned sine die, to register his protest for not getting an opportunity to air his views on the destruction caused by rains in Andhra Pradesh.

Lagdapati Rajagopal, a Congress member from Vijaywada, staged a protest sit-in inside the house immediately after it was adjourned at around 12.05pm due to pandemonium due to which he was unable to raise the matter. Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal had to step in to persuade Rajagopal to vacate the house.

After much persuasion and giving a tough time to authorities, he finally left the house at 6pm.
