He was to address the Assocham and then take questions, according to the invitations sent out by the corporate body.

However, after delivering his speech, Musharraf said he could not interact with the audience.

Assocham later said Musharraf could not take questions because of his "contractual agreement" with India Today on whose invitation he had come to India.

"Musharraf had a contractual agreement with India Today only because of that there was no interaction," D S Rawat, Secretary General, Assocham said.

At the India Today Conclave last evening, Musharraf faced a barrage of questions regarding terrorism emanating from Pakistan which visibly made him uncomfortable and at times agitated.

As the audience at the conclave posed tough questions one after another, Musharraf remarked that he had anticipated "hostile" posers in view of the current chill in the Indo-Pak relations.
