Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday said people misunderstand him over his comments and a wrong impression was being created about it.

During a Border Security Force event to mark the 97th birth anniversary of its founding chief KF Rustamji, Shinde referred to a recent incident where he expressed his desire to bring in a new and attractive uniform for the home guards and it was misunderstood.
“When I had talked about the (change of) uniform of home guards they took it for (change in) uniform of the entire paramilitary forces. Some people misunderstand me and give wrong impression. I only meant that home guards should look smart,” clarified Shinde who has been in tight spot due to his comments. During his address, the home minister asked the BSF bosses to be little more considerate about the grievances and requirements of the troopers deployed on the border and for other internal security related duties in the country.
