A day earlier, Khumkala Banjade had filed an application before a Ghaziabad court, alleging her husband was killed by the Talwar couple.

"My husband had told me that the Talwars warned him not to reveal house secrets to anyone. They had also threatened to kill him if he revealed anything about the family," said Banjade at a press conference on Sunday.

"He had assured them that he was not disloyal to his employers. When my husband came to Nepal in 2007, he told me that Rajesh Talwar was a short-tempered man," she added.

On why it took so long for her to speak out, Banjade said, "I was waiting for the court’s decision. Everyone was talking about justice for Aarushi while completely forgetting about Hemraj because we are poor."

She filed her application under Article 311 of the CrPC. The CBI court will record her statement on April 27.

"We had claimed that three Nepali domestic help accused in the case were innocent. The CBI closure report has given a clean chit to the trio. Now we have full faith in the judiciary. Hemraj’s wife will get justice. We are with her," said Chintamani Bhattrai, central executive member of Mool Pravah Akhil Bharat.

Last week the Supreme Court stayed criminal proceedings against the Talwar couple.

The Allahabad High Court had also dismissed the Talwars’ plea, who sought to quash proceedings initiated by the lower court. This was after the lower court refused the CBI’s closure report and summoned the couple as accused in the case.

Aarushi Talwar, 14, was found murdered at her Noida house on May 16, 2008.

Hemraj, who was suspected to be the culprit, was also found dead a day later on the terrace of the same house.
