The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is setting up a cremation ground at Nathupur village, DLF Phase 3. City mayor Vimal Yadav laid the foundation stone on Wednesday. Senior MCG officials Yashpal Batra, Parminder Kataria and others took part in the event.

According to officials, the crematorium will have all modern facilities. “The new technology will help reducing inconvenience to public,” said the mayor.
The corporation has given the contract for the construction of crematorium to a private firm BMB Enterprises and it is expected to be ready by June 2012.
“We will complete the project in six months,” said Neeraj Bali, manager, BMB Enterprises.
The proposed crematorium is in the vicinity of residential complexes. Residents are not happy at the move. “We are not happy that the cremation ground is situated near our flats,” said RP Singh, a representative of the RWA.
