NIA files fresh FIR in Sunil Joshi case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a fresh FIR in the murder case of former RSS 'pracharak' Sunil Joshi, who allegedly led the group behind all Hindu terror blasts.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a fresh FIR in the murder case of former RSS 'pracharak' Sunil Joshi, who allegedly led the group behind all Hindu terror blasts. The NIA will seek permission of court to further investigate the matter.

Joshi was murdered in mysterious circumstances on December 29, 2007 in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. The state police investigated the matter and had filed a chargesheet on February 27 this year. The state police alleged he was killed by his own group men who were angry with him for different reasons. Those chargesheeted included Harshad Solanki, an accused in Best Bakery case wherein 14 people will killed during the 2002 Gujarat riots and Pragya Singh Thakur, whose motorcycle was used in the Malegaon (2008) blast. Thakur was arrested in the case.

But the NIA suspects a larger conspiracy behind Joshi's murder as he was the bridge between conspirators and executioners of all Hindu terror cases. Investigators suspect that he was silenced because he knew too much about the real conspirators.

Even MP police has stated in its chargesheet that Joshi had decided to surrender and that it was one of reasons for his murder. According to NIA sources, they are discrediting the investigation done by the state police but they just want to probe the matter deeper.

The chargesheet alleges Joshi had tried to physically misbehave with Pragya Singh Thakur. The chargesheet also claims after the fall-out between Pragya and Joshi, their respective supporters also divided into two groups.

The NIA wants to probe all these lines of investigation further to unravel the whole conspiracy behind Hindu terror strikes executed in retaliation of bomb blasts by Muslim groups.
